FAQs

Can you meet my dog before you come and collect him for the first time?

Absolutely!  I will arrange a free home visit and a trial walk with your dog to make sure that everyone is happy before any bookings are made.  This allows for you and your dog to get to know me and for you to ask any questions that you might have.

Will my dog meet other dogs?

Yes. It is normal there will be other dogs with us but I only allow dogs that get along with others and do not show aggression! I tend to take a small group of dogs for walkies at the same time.

Does my dog need to be vaccinated?

Your dog will need to have up to date vaccinations and up to date with flea and tic treatments.

Is Woof Walks insured and licensed?

Yes, we are fully insured.

Does my dog need to be microchipped?

It is advisable to have your dog microchipped but your dog must have an ID badge on its collar or harness

Does my dog need to be insured?

We don’t mind if your dog is not insured, however, it is peace of mind for you, especially if your dog likes walking off the lead.

Do you walk all types of dogs?

I am happy to walk small to larger than medium dogs. But not large dogs

What do I need to provide for my dog?

I can provide leads and dog harnesses for transport.  However, I am also happy to use your own leads if your dog prefers.  I will need the dogs’ harness or a head-collar if they prefer to be walked with these, as well a coat for wet / cold days (if your dog requires one).   If your dog has a preferred recall treat or toy, I can take this with me too.

Will you walk my dog off lead?

I am happy to walk your dog on or off lead, however, I would like to get to know your dog first before she is allowed off the lead.  Remember, dogs can act differently when they are away with you and it is my priority to keep your dog safe whilst under my care. I will only let your dog off lead once we have written consent and it is safe to do so.

Do I need to be at home for you to collect my dog?

No, you can take advantage of my key holding service, which means that I can collect and drop off your dog when you are out or you can just arrange for someone to give me access to your dog when we arrive to

What do you do in case of emergency?

For your dogs safety I am first aid trained and if we agree at our initial meeting, depending on the severity of the emergency I may perform vital first aid to your dog, however I am not a vet.  I would call you to discuss the situation and agree a plan of action.  If you cannot be reached and your dog requires urgent medical attention, we will take your dog to the vet designated by you, or the nearest to our current location. Please note that it would be your responsibility to settle or reimburse charges for any treatment or veterinary care when we return your dog.

Can you feed my dog during the day?

Yes, I can feed your dog if required so that their normal feeding routine is not disrupted, especially important for puppies. You need to provide their normal food divided into their usual portions. Your dog will be fed separately from any other dogs that might be in my care.
